Mum's heartbreaking reaction to Aaron Woods injury

Aaron Woods' mother was in tears in the dressing rooms after the Tigers skipper limped off with a horror hamstring injury against the Sharks.

Woods hobbled off Leichhardt Oval in the Tigers' 22-16 loss to Cronulla on Saturday night and was seen leaving the sheds immediately after halftime.

DONE DEAL: Bulldogs confirm Aaron Woods' signature

INJURY BLOW: Fifita called into Kangaroos for Woods

His mother greeted him with a hug before wiping away tears.

Perhaps it was the fact that her son would miss out on representing his country in the Anzac Test that was too much, or the realisation that he might have played his last game for the Tigers.

It's unclear how long Woods will be ruled out for, but the front-rower has been replaced by Andrew Fifita in the Kangaroos side to face New Zealand on Friday.

He was booed onto the field for a second consecutive week after it was revealed he would not re-sign with the club - before confirming on Sunday he would join Canterbury.

The NSW Origin forward is heading to Belmore at the end of the season on a deal that will keep him there until at least the end of 2021.
