Otago golfer Mahal Pearce secured his biggest win in a decade in claiming the Victorian Pro-Am by one shot in Melbourne on Sunday.

The 34-year-old, the last Kiwi to have won the New Zealand Open when he claimed the title in 2002 at Middlemore, shot a one over par 73 in trying conditions to claim the victory by one shot from Victorian Ashley Hall.

Pearce had rounds of 68, 73, 70 and 73 at the Legends and Open courses of Moonah Links.
