Matthew Johns was stood down indefinitely by the Nine Network following an ABC Four Corners expose on Rugby League's seedy sex scandals. Johns was discovered to have been involved in group sex with a NZ woman in 2002 - an act she claimed was non-consenual, but that was not acted on by police.

the imortal, self confessed drug cheat, racist, embellishing stories about race horses when drunk. give rugby league some crediability by stripping imortal title & sack him from tv screens.
ReplyHis career aside, I have seen this man in some pretty ugly situations and although I don't know Johns on a more personal level it was quite clear to see from his behaviour and speaking to him that this is a broken man with many issues, quite sad to see someone at his age has not been able to have the wisdom to change. In my early 20's I had similar issues with drugs and I hope that he gets the support and help that he needs.
ReplyNo wonder, the last 5 minutes in a game, is the same as the first 5 minutes in a game. "It ain't over till the fat lady sings". Hehehehe...how stupid are we to believe, Andrew Johns' pass to his Knights winger was the highlight and greatest come back of all time in the then ARL in1997 grand final against sea-eagles.. Now it is just a talk of drug enhancing performer rather than a legend of the game... What a disgrace i must say for those who cheat and destroy the name of the beautiful game, rugby league. I hate all players of this last 2 decades.. Bunch of cheaters..
ReplyI have always admired the greats.... but one on the best greats is Michael Jordan. He was truly a great ambassador of sport in the name of basketball. He really showed extra-ordinary natural and great talents. I am Papua New Guinean but I follow MJ. He is an inspiration to me. In Papua New Guinea, we follow NRL like crazy, but now as for me, this year I will view NRL as a movie and not a real sport. It is like watching a villain and the hero you know who will already win.. NRL is artificial to me now!!!
Replywhat do you expect when a past elite player confesses to useing drugs his whole career and then is named an immortal of the game along side players that truly deserved it no wonder the game of rugby league is going down hill fast if you are really serious about cleaning up the game strip this player of the title of imortal and come down hard on the clubs and players that are doing the wrong thing
