A three-time Premiership winnng player, WA-born 'Polly' Famer is a legend of Aussie Rules footy. Not only is he remembered for his extraordinary talent as a ruckman, but also for revolutionising the role. He was known to practice handballing using car windows as a target, making him very fast, strong and accurate at it. Farmer effectively turned the handball into a legitimate form of passing, such as hand-balling to an oncoming runner after a mark.

Replybuddy franklin before peter matera, gotta be kidding.
ReplyJust to add to my previous post..why isn't "Chicken George" on the list? Didn't he achieve enough?
ReplyWhew, just for a moment I thought the Big Fulla missed out too, but he was there and just as well. It ain't a list without Big Artie. I agree with Lumwana Chris tho. No Polly Farmer or Sid Jackson and from league, no John "Chicka" Ferguson and what about the "Black Flash", Larry Corowa? I think they tried too hard to get as many sports on the list instead of aiming for the best sports people.
ReplyTotally agree with Lumwana Chris! Prolly Farmer changed the game of AFL. To not have him in there is a travesty! BTW Cyril Rioli would be a good inclusion.
