Lionel Rose was more than just the first Indigenous Australian boxer to win a world title. He was also a national treasure. When he won the world bantamweight title in 1968 a crowd of 100,000 greeted him at Melbourne Town Hall. Such was the admiration for Rose.

only one way to describe mundine a total muslim scumbag
Replybuddy franklin before peter matera, gotta be kidding.
ReplyJust to add to my previous post..why isn't "Chicken George" on the list? Didn't he achieve enough?
ReplyWhew, just for a moment I thought the Big Fulla missed out too, but he was there and just as well. It ain't a list without Big Artie. I agree with Lumwana Chris tho. No Polly Farmer or Sid Jackson and from league, no John "Chicka" Ferguson and what about the "Black Flash", Larry Corowa? I think they tried too hard to get as many sports on the list instead of aiming for the best sports people.
ReplyTotally agree with Lumwana Chris! Prolly Farmer changed the game of AFL. To not have him in there is a travesty! BTW Cyril Rioli would be a good inclusion.
