Despite not having won a tournament since 2009, Tiger Woods remains atop the list of the world's highest earning athletes, raking in an approximate $62 million last year. This represents a 30% decrease in pay for Woods and may well signify his time at the top coming to an end, having lost the majority of his sponsorship deals following his November car crash and infidelity scandal.

While his multimillion dollar endorsement deals with Nike and EA have allowed him to stay at the number one spot, hot on Tiger's heals and falling a measly million short of being the highest earner is fellow golfer and the second highest paid sportsmen of 2011, Phil Mickelson.
