Man City crock Boateng may face surgery

Manchester City fullback Jerome Boateng has broken down in Germany training.

Boateng was withdrawn from Germany's home friendly against Australia tonight when he complained of a knee problem in training.

Scans yesterday revealed ligament damage and he may now face surgery back in Manchester.

City lost Micah Richards to a hamstring pull last week.
