Adelaide United has agreed to terms with an overseas soccer club for the release of striker Bruce Djite.

Djite says he is yet to see or sign a contract but appears headed for German first division club FC Nuremberg.

United reached the agreement today, just after Djite made controversial comments about his contract negotiations in Adelaide.

Djite had expressed disappointment about pressure on him from United officials to decide on his future.

"The club throwing ultimatums around and saying we need to know now, a week, two days, you know mate that's not being very understanding and it doesn't work like that mate," he had said.

Now that terms have been agreed Djite says he is pleased, but apprehensive, about his overseas plans.

"It's a good opportunity, it's not gonna be easy you know, I don't have a family yet or anything there but there've been past Socceroos players that have been quite successful at the club," he said.

"You know it's up to me to take my opportunity, you know, my foot's in the door."

Nuremberg appears to be Djite's suitor, with Australians including Josh Kennedy, Dean Heffernan and Michael Beauchamp having played there.
