Grant says title-chasing Chelsea are England's form side

LONDON, May 9 (Reuters) - Chelsea manager Avram Grant believes his side are playing the best football in England as they prepare for the title-deciding final day in the Premier League.

"We've been playing the best football in England in the last month, playing it at the right time against really big teams and big managers," Grant told a news conference. "Let's see what happens."

Chelsea and Manchester United go into Sunday's final round of games level on 84 points, with Chelsea facing Bolton at home and United travelling to Wigan.

United have the advantage of a substantially superior goal difference, which means Chelsea can win the title only if their rivals drop points.

After beating both United and Arsenal in the final weeks of the season and scoring 14 goals in their last eight games, Grant feels his side are the form team.

"Whatever happens on Sunday, I'm very proud of what we've done this season at Chelsea," he said.

"Alex Ferguson said two or three months ago that this was the best United side he'd ever coached. If that's so, we've given them a good battle and it might go down to goal difference. And that makes me very proud."

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho has a back injury but hopes to be fit this weekend.

"He didn't train today but we'll see tomorrow -- he's better," said Grant, adding that striker Salomon Kalou had recovered from an ankle injury.

Chelsea need Wigan to pull off a shock result against United if they are to be crowned champions.

"Wigan didn't lose since January at home and they played fantastic against us," Grant said. "They know they are in the spotlight all over the world so I think they will do their best.

"But first we have a game against Bolton. It's not an easy game. We need to win this game. Second of course we will look at the result at Wigan. We hope everything will be okay." (Editing by Clare Fallon)
