Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has rubbished talk of a move to Australia for Michael Owen.

Australian outfit Perth Glory claimed yesterday they had been approached by the former England striker's agent about a move.

But Pulis insisted last night: "We've had no one contact us about him. I think Michael is happy where he is. He's a great kid."

Perth do not need him. A great team and a great club. We have seen too many EPL and other "top" league players come here and been duds. We have more than enough extraordinary local talent without bringing in 'overseas on the way outs'.
