Freedman hopes Wednesday result will kick start Palace season

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman believes Saturday's shock 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday can kick-start their Championship season.

"I believe this team will get better and get stronger," said Freedman.

"We were low on confidence but we ground out a win against a team, let's not forget, who were unbeaten in 18 games, who had all the momentum with them, a team who won promotion last year.

"They were against a team bottom of the league with no points, who everyone was writing off. That just shows you the character we have in this team."
