Liverpool pressing Barcelona for Tello deal

Liverpool are pushing Barcelona to open talks over a fee for Cristian Tello.

Tello faces being demoted back to the B team this season and with less than a year to run on his contract, he is ready to move on.

Sport says Liverpool are ready to rescue the young striker and hope to settle on terms with Barca before the Premier League kicks off next week.

For their part, Barca chiefs want to discuss a new contract with Tello, despite his playing frustrations.
