Barcelona fancy Athletic Bilbao striker Llorente on Bosman

Barcelona are eyeing want-away Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.

With less than a year to run on his contract and no sign of new contract talks, Llorente is understood to have told Bilbao he's ready to leave this month.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with the Spain international this week.

However, Barca are also keen and will attempt to secure Llorente to a pre-contract in January.

Asked about the developments yesterday, Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa would only respond: "I'd rather not talk about rumours."
