Stoke target Olsson hands in Blackburn transfer request

Blackburn Rovers left-back Martin Olsson has handed in a transfer request according to his agent.

The 24-year old Sweden international joined the Rovers youth academy back in 2006 but is now ready to depart Ewood Park after the club dropped into the Championship according to agent Martin Dahlin.

"It is correct that Martin has handed in a transfer request. Of course he doesn't want to play in the Championship," Dahlin told Fotbollskanalen.se.

Olsson, who has three years left on his Blackburn deal, is being linked with a summer move to Stoke City.
