Man City not shelving interest for Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez

Manchester City are interested in Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez.

The Manchester Evening News says City have not given up on a plan to prise Martinez away from Athletic Bilbao.

The Spain international can play in midfield and at the back, which is where City boss Roberto Mancini sees him primarily playing.
