Bayer chief: Real Madrid coach Mourinho convinced us about Carvajal

Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser says Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho had a big say in their capture of Dani Carvajal.

The young defender signed for Bayer this week after the recommendation of Mourinho.

"Mourinho recommended Carvajal highly," he told the Express in Germany.

"He thinks a lot of the boy, but also said that he could continue to perform at another club. In real terms, he's behind Sergio Ramos and Alvaro Arbeloa. With us, he can continue to perform."
