Joe Cole was delighted to be back in training with Liverpool after a season-long loan with Lille in France.

The 30-year old midfielder feels like he has another chance to prove himself at Anfield following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager and is desperate to make a name for himself on Merseyside.

"It's great to be back," he said. "It's a clean slate for everyone, so I'm delighted to be back.

"Training has been good - and it's nice to be back in England and nice to be back in Liverpool.

"Of course. I don't want to leave Liverpool one day having not been a success here or having left something here. I want to make an imprint at the club.
