Melbourne Victory have announced the appointment of Paul Trimboli as the clubs Football Operations Manager.

The 43-year old Socceroos striker has returned home to Melbourne following a one-year stint with reigning A-League champions Brisbane Roar where he held a similar position.

Trimboli has reunited with former Roar coach Ange Postecoglou at the Victory and is excited about the challenge ahead with his hometown club.

"While I enjoyed my time with Brisbane Roar and made many great friends, Melbourne was always home, so when this opportunity presented itself, I felt that it was the right one for me," he said.

"Melbourne Victory's fans are quite remarkable and they crave success, so it's a great challenge and one that I'm extremely excited about.

"Ange and I have known one another for a very long time, so to be able to continue working alongside him - albeit at a different club - is a fantastic result for me."
