Barcelona, Real Madrid waiting for Spurs green light over Bale

Barcelona are expected to now turn up on the heat on Tottenham over their pursuit of Gareth Bale.

El Mundo Deportivo says Spurs recently wrote to Barca informing them that that they weren't interested in negotiating the sale of Bale. However, with Chelsea winning the Champions League, so condemning Spurs to the Europa League next season, all bets are off.

Bale is Barca sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta's top choice for wing-back this summer, but will face competition from Real Madrid should Spurs relent and invite an auction for the Welsh ace.
