Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was delighted with his stunning goal this week at Fulham.

Wednesday's 5-0 win at Fulham was particularly impressive, with Rooney's long-range thunderbolt the goal of the game.

It was Rooney's fourth league goal in three games, having previously not scored from open play since September.

The striker, 26, added: "It was a great win for us. We played very well and took our chances - which is good away from home - and it was nice to get on the scoresheet too.

"I don't think it was my best game but I was pleased to score. I just thought 'Why not?', put my foot through it and, thankfully, it went in."
