Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is losing patience over his pursuit of Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.

Martinez has become frustrated with the stalemate, and while the 29-year-old remains top of his shortlist, he admits the club has begun to look at alternatives.

"Our priority of course would be to keep Ali, but if we have to move for another player in that position then that's what we'll do," he said.

"Ali did tremendously well during his time here and was voted Player of the Year, which is something to be proud of.

"We'll continue to work as hard as we can to do a deal, but sometimes you cannot achieve things unless there is more of an input from one of the other parties to the original agreement.

"Ali has made it clear he'd love to carry on his time with us, and we'd love to keep him, but we'll have to wait and see."
