Abramovich orders Chelsea NOT to offer Terry new terms

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to deliver a contract snub to skipper John Terry.

The Daily Star says the Blues skipper is set to become the latest player to feel the wrath of the Russian billionaire, who has still not forgiven him, Frank Lampard and former star Didier Drogba for failing to back ex-boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Terry's current contract runs until the end of the next season, and despite the club backing him all the way through his race-row trial and subsequent ban from the FA for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, Abramovich is reluctant to offer him a new deal.

Terry's advisers tested the water recently about opening talks in the new year. But it is understood they will snubbed by Chelsea's hierarchy on the orders of Abramovich, who is determined to lower the average age of the squad and remove those who are seen to hold too much influence.
