Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman is hoping to bring Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern back to the Championship club.

The 22 year old had a spell at Palace at the start of last season, making five appearances for Freedman's side before moving to Bristol City for the remainder of the campaign.

The Northern Ireland international has taken in loan spells at Morecambe, Walsall and Leicester City during his time at City and made one substitute's appearance for the Premier League champions.
