The International Cricket Council (ICC) has delayed a definite decision on whether Pakistan will still host the Champions Trophy in September amid security concerns.
A security briefing has been held in Dubai for the eight countries taking part in the tournament.
The ICC said in a statement that fears were raised about potential security threats beyond the Pakistan Cricket Board's control.
The ICC Board will make a final decision on the tournament later this week. The statement said the September 11-28 tournament will proceed in Pakistan for now.
Defending champions Australia, England and New Zealand are all scheduled to play in the tournament, but their governments advise citizens against visiting Pakistan.
