Captain Cook has taken on the England leadership with aplomb, adding to his reputation as an immovable object at the top of the order. He will be a key figure in next year's Ashes series.

What no Kevin !
ReplyPEEL – Regarding keepers, I believe that the keeper should be selected on keeping ability. A keeper’s batting ability is a bonus. I’m not sure why Wade has taken Haddin’s place. I agree about the mistakes that Wade has made. It was probably because of age. Haddin is 10 years older than Wade.
ReplyPEEL – Obviously rankings only represent someone’s form at a particular point in time (last year or so). However, everyone will have their own opinions about who the best players are, so the only ‘evidence’ you can point to are the rankings. All I’m saying is, who are Yahoo to say that, for example, that Morkel & Anderson are better than Philander. I like Anderson but Philander has been awesome this year and that’s why he is ranked 2 & Morkel & Anderson are ranked 7=.
ReplyHi PEEL – Katich was let go because of a combination of age (same age as Ponting) and form (his last Series against England his average was 24 & previous series average against India was 27). Katich’s last 10 innings averaged 23. Ponting & Clarke also had bad form but Ponting had over 12,000 Test runs (Legends get an extra life) and Clarke is 6 years younger (only just reaching his peak).
ReplyWade has not proved he is the man for the position of keeper he has missed numerous stumpings & catches is not technically correct as a keeper. He has not performed with the bat either. Haddin is by far the best keeper we have & is performing better with the bat than the so called batsmen in NSW.
