Geelong have remained undefeated against Hawthorn since their grand final loss in 2008, and the champion club kept that record intact in spectacular fashion. After putting on a dominant display against the then flag favourites, scoring 57 in the first quarter alone - a record against the Hawks. Then Hawthorn turned the screws and unbelievably took the lead into the last quarter. With less than a minute to go, Hawthorn led by 4 before the Cats hit back with a goal after the siren from star forward Tom Hawkins on the 50 mark in what was the best game of the AFL season 2012.
