Goodbye to a legend

Matty Hayden is a champion and a true legend of the game. He's a guy that I've always looked up to and have had the pleasure of playing many, many Test matches with him.

He's been a close friend of mine and I wish him the very best. He deserves to go out with a bang and I hope Australia gets a chance to acknowledge what he's done for cricket.

The Gabba is Matt Hayden's home ground. I'm not sure what will happen tonight at the ground but I am sure a lot of people will turn out to honour the great opener at tonight's Twenty20 match.

'Hurricane' Warner

Dave Warner's innings during the first Twenty20 match against South Africa was incredible. He looks to be a really sweet hitter of the ball - something Ricky Ponting mentioned on air as well.

He's playing with a lot of confidence and best of luck too him. I've seen him do similar things in Twenty20 matches for NSW this year. He looks like he's definitely got the goods with bat.

Road to recovery

My recovery is going well. I've been happy with the progress so far. I'm back doing upper body training and I'm feeling very good.

Congratulations Matty Hayden all the best for the coming years - you played so well. Australia are proud of having you on their side and you Matty Hayden may you feel proud of the fantastic work you put in every game. Now a Comment to dogsoldier1962.. It's so hard to come back from injury yet Brett does time and time again. Brett has been around more than a decade and been dropped and injured but returned each time to take 300 wickets and he will do it again.

Seems my comment has been removed kataylorstevens. No disputing that it hard to come back from injury and yes Brett Lee has taken 300 wickets but even at his peak he did not run through sides as is evidenced by him never taking 10 wickets in a test match. His best figures are 5/30 against the West Indies in 2005. His best is behind him and with Hayden retiring I just suggested that he may consider the same course of action and jump before he is pushed.

Yes, correct his evidenced shows that he has never taking 10 wickets in a Test Match, but saying that only two ppl have and that was Jim Laker from England (1956) and Anil Kumble from Inda (1999).
In saying that, Arthur Mailey from Aust (1921) bowled 9 wickets and in recent years Glenn Mc
though saying that Glenn was a Right-arm fast-medium

Yes, that would be correct, though saying that Australia are battling to take 10 wickets in a match.
Brett was sick in India and Injured here. The only reason we won in Sydney was a disgraceful pitch and we just won that. You don’t get rid of your bowlers who can get the top order wickets when we struggling to do the job with top batting line ups without a fit Lee.
