Busy times: Let's rotate, but not for Tests

If you were to look at the Australian cricket team's schedule for next year and take it at face value it would seem very daunting.

At the conclusion of the one day international (ODI) series against South Africa and New Zealand in January and early February, the team is scheduled to tour South Africa and then head to England for the Ashes with the rescheduled world Twenty20 champs and the IPL to be held in the interim.

From my perspective, I like to take it all just tour by tour and find if you don't it's sometimes hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I can see a lot of players being used to get us through the ODI competitions that are ahead of us, that will definitely happen, but I hope this doesn't happen for the Test matches.

For me Test matches are what international cricket is all about.

Coming up this week at the WACA I think it's important we stick to a style of cricket we know. We have bowled at the WACA a lot, so as a unit we are confident of the job we can do.

In recent times, the WACA has become lower and slower that it has traditionally been in the past so Jason Krejza's spin could be a huge option.

There's been a lot of speculation as to the type of wicket we are playing on but I'll wait until we get there on Saturday before I make a comment on how I think it will play.

On another note I really hope Dale Steyn can overcome his hamstring strain and play in Perth. It would be a great shame for world cricket and South Africa if he couldn't

It will be especially sad for the Western Australian public if they are not given the opportunity to see him bowling at full pace.
