England to throw the kitchen sink
August 14, 2009

What will happen, will happen, so all I'm focussing on right now is to give myself the best opportunity to play by performing well in the practice match against the English Lions on Saturday and Sunday.
I'm looking forward to finally getting out and playing a game of cricket again.
The way we played at Headingley was in an absolutely clinical fashion. Down the track we could be looking at the first morning at Leeds as the point at when the Ashes turned.
We are expecting England (and Andrew Flintoff in particular) to throw the kitchen sink at us to get up and win at the Oval. Despite the margin at Leeds the fourth Test is behind us and we'll be kicking off with a clean slate to decide the Ashes.
From a spectators point-of-view I don't think anyone could have asked for too many better scenarios to finish the series with. Our focus as a squad is not be complacent in any way.
I don't see us having a result in two and a half days again, somehow, but we will be scrapping any way we can to secure the series. It's going to be a great way to finish the series.
It's interesting to hear all the talk in England about recalling Mark Ramprakash and Marcus Trescothick. It's obviously a push for experience. I'm not sure if they will actually be selected – only time will tell – but I think someone like Robert Key is definitely in the mix.
I'll be looking forward to making a big contribution in the one-day games coming up as well. We'll be playing under Michael Clarke while Ricky Ponting is rested and so far he's proven to be a very capable leader whenever he's had his chance. I'm sure all the boys are looking forward to getting behind him.
