What a difference a week makes
July 22, 2009

Last week in Cardiff, we were one wicket away from being one-nil up in an Ashes series. Now we are one-nil down.
Our focus now is switching to levelling the contest at Edgbaston.
For us, Michael Clarke's second innings century was a really top class performance to come out of the second Test.
He played what I think was the best innings of his career so far. He had a lot of pressure on him and he used that to his advantage and batted beautifully.
On the other hand for England, Andrew Flintoff was simply outstanding. He really knows when to step it up – and he seems to do it against Australia.
He put on a real spectacle bowling as quick as he did.
He has three tests to go in his career and he will produce more of the same for us during the rest of the series.
I spoke to him after the game and he was absolutely exhausted. The English team’s dressing room was different to how it usually is after a Test win as everyone was very tired after a tough match.
From our point of view, it was always a massive ask for us to score 500 runs in the fourth innings at Lord's.
It was a chase made tougher taking in to consideration our first innings batting, but just for a moment on the fourth night I'm sure we would have sent some nerves through the English camp.
I won't be playing the tour match against Northamptonshire but my recovery is going very, very well.
It's going to be a race against the clock to be available for the third Test and if there's any chance I'm not 100 per cent fit, I'll wait until the fourth.
The use of the third umpire became an issue at Lord's and it's my personal opinion that the umpires make the call themselves. They are only human – sometimes their calls are wrong sometimes they are right.
At Edgbaston we'll be revisiting the scene of the very tight contest we had back in 2005.
The English crowd arrived that morning expecting to see our last two wickets wrapped up very quickly. As it happened we put up a massive fight and almost got to our target.
The atmosphere and contest this time around is going to just as good I reckon.

he be replacing? also watson seemed like he would be there for the third test? if so same
question. PS (Mitchell Johnson is doing a great job for australia! he makes 50's,
He's gotten a century, and 9/10 times his bowling is on song. Aus would be mad if they
took him off the team for one bad bowling spell.) what ever changes are made, Good luck.
Oh and Notch..... Call your MOTHER :P
