South Africa - class act

It was disappointing to see us outclassed in the fourth one-day international last night.

South Africa has provided very tough opposition all summer and they really proved it last night when our batting really put them under the pump.

We got off to a fantastic start, but unfortunately fell in a heap.

This was true to the South African fighting spirit we've seen all summer and was pretty true to Australia's never give up attitude.

South Africa is playing with the belief they can turn a match around at any time.

As far as the series goes, Perth is not a big game but as far as the Australian team goes it is shaping as a massive game.

The way Australia will be preparing is a way of getting everything right before the New Zealand series.

I think South Africa will rest a few key players but there is still a lot to be gained from this match for Australia.

I'll pick Australia to do well in the series against the Kiwis especially after we got the wood over them in the Tests.

I don’t think they will be as competitive as South Africa - and I mean that will all due respect – they have some key players who will provide a good test for us.

When we get back over to South Africa we can expect a very, very hard series.

The Australian crowd didn't fluster them and they always held their nerve at crucial times in the series.

If you take that into account as well as them playing with the crowd behind them and in favourable conditions it's going to take a big effort to compete.

I know the spirit of the guys going over, and although it is going to be very hard work, we are very capable of winning over there.

Hi Brett,
I don't know if you remember me I used to work at the Score bar in 2000. I have grown my hair back.
I would like to ask you this, I notice that there seems to be a lack of confidence in Ricky's captaincy of a late. The bowlers are becoming slightly irratic, mistakes in the field by players who in the past very rarely misfield, batsmen failing to score double figures or is this due to the pressure & performance by the S/A players.

I am a fan of all forms of cricket and I find the 1 day format somewhat boring but I have an idea to liven it up. Split it into 2 halves of 25 (where both bat and bowl in the first 50 overs of the game) with a toss of the coin to see who bowls or bats first, then play the other 50 overs in the same format, split into 25 overs again with a toss of the coin to see who bats or bowls first.
In your first 10 overs of fielding, you can only have 2 players in the outfield, then the next 5 overs you ca
