What to watch: Day 6 at the Olympics
Here's a rundown of the key events scheduled for Day 6 of Olympic competition. The events will not be televised live but can be live-streamed on NBC's Olympics website.
Day 6 — Thursday, August 2, 2012
Thursday's marquee event is the women's individual all-around gymnastics final at 11:30 a.m. ET. Americans Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas are in the race for gold, while defending world-champ Jordyn Wieber will watch from the sidelines after failing to qualify.
The Michael Phelps-Ryan Lochte rivalry continues with the men's 200m individual medley at 3:19 p.m. ET. In their previous matchup (Saturday's 400 IM), Lochte won gold and Phelps finished a surprising fourth. The seeds for Thursday's race: 1. Lochte, 2. Hungary's László Cseh, 3. Phelps.
Earlier in the day—at 2:48 p.m. ET—Lochte will compete in the men's 200m backstroke final against fellow American Tyler Clary.

In women's swimming, the U.S.'s Missy Franklin and Jessica Hardy will compete in the women's 100m freestyle final at 3:37 p.m. ET. Americans Micah Lawrence and Rebecca Soni go head to head in the women's 200m breaststroke final at 2:40 p.m. ET.
In tennis, quarterfinal action begins. Wimbledon champ Roger Federer will face Team USA's last hope John Isner at 11 a.m. ET. Serbia's Novak Djokovic is sure to find a weary opponent in France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at 9 a.m. ET. Andy Murray will enjoy home-court advantage over Spain's Nicolas Almagro at 7 a.m. ET, and Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro will face Japan's Kei Nishikori at 11 a.m. ET.
In women's singles, American Serena Williams will face Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki at 9 a.m. ET, and Russia's Maria Sharapova will battle Belgium's Kim Clijsters at 1 p.m. ET. In doubles, the Williams sisters will go up against Italy's Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani at 12:30 p.m. ET.
Fresh off its victory over Romania, Team USA water polo will take on Great Britain at 1:20 p.m. ET.

Americans Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhauser will hit the sand against Czech Republic's Premysl Kubala and Petr Benes in the men's beach volleyball preliminary at 4 p.m. ET.
Other finals include men's double scull rowing (4:50 a.m. ET), men's lightweight rowing (5 a.m. ET), women's eight with coxswain rowing (7:30 a.m. ET), men's double trap shooting (10 a.m. ET), men's double canoe (10:18 a.m. ET), men's singles table tennis (10:30 a.m. ET), women's individual archery (10:37 a.m. ET), women's single kayak (10:57 a.m. ET), men's half heavyweight judo (11:10 a.m. ET), women's sprint cycling (12:59 p.m. ET), and men's team sprint cycling (1:15 p.m. ET).
