What to watch: Day 13 at the Olympics

There are four days left of competition, and here's our take on the top Olympic events to watch on Thursday, Aug. 9.

The most hotly anticipated event of the day will be the women's soccer gold-medal game featuring the U.S. and Japan — a rematch of the 2011 World Cup final. The Americans are looking for redemption from that game, which Japan won on penalty kicks. Start time is 2:45 p.m. ET. Yahoo! Sports will offer a live chat here of the game starting at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The bronze-medal match between France and Canada will take place at 8 a.m. ET.

On the track, all eyes will be on the men's 200-meter race at 3:55 p.m. ET as Jamaica's Usain Bolt attempts to become the only man to win both the 100m and 200m races in back-to-back Olympics. Wallace Spearmon will be the U.S.'s only hope in the race, which also features the 100m silver medalist Yohan Blake of Jamaica. Yahoo! Sports' live chat of the race will start at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The decathlon, which held five events on Wednesday, will hold its final five events, starting with the 110m hurdles at 4 a.m. ET and ending with the 1500m at 4:20 p.m. ET. World-record holder American Ashton Eaton is currently sitting in first place, with fellow American Trey Hardee in second.

Two Americans will also run in the eight-man 800 meters field at 3 p.m. ET, but no Americans are competing in the women's javelin at 4 p.m. ET.

In women's boxing, 17-year-old Claressa Shields will fight for the gold medal in the middleweight division against Russia's Nadezda Torlopova at 12:15 p.m. ET.

The U.S. women's water polo will also play to determine the color of their hardware in the gold-medal match at 3 p.m. ET against Spain. The Americans are seeking their first gold medal.
