U.S. speedskater Shani Davis calls Stephen Colbert 'a jerk'
Stephen Colbert's whole shtick on his satirical news show, "The Colbert Report", is that he's a jerk. Shani Davis isn't really in on the joke.
The star U.S. speedskater called the Comedy Central host "a jerk" in a recent press conference in which he was asked about a running anti-Canada gag Colbert features on his show.
Reports the Associated Press:
"He's a jerk," Shani Davis said Thursday when asked for his take on the comedian's criticism of Canadians. "You can put that in the paper."
Davis declined to elaborate, making the comment while vetting potential questions from The Canadian Press before rejecting an interview request and walking away.

What's worst is that Colbert helped raise $300,000 for U.S. Speedskating when its previous sponsor filed for bankruptcy. Colbert urged viewers to raise the money to support the team and the plan worked to perfection. Basically, Davis just spit in the face of his team's main benefactor.
Shani Davis needs to get a sense of humor. Getting mad at Colbert for ripping Canada is like getting mad at Ralph Fiennes for killing Harry Potter's parents. It's an act, Shani. Get over yourself and stick to the ice.
