A wealth of possession up to half-time had Geelong heading for a comfortable round 14 win over the Crows at Football Park this evening.
Adelaide was simply outclassed by a Cats side in cruise control and trailed 9.8 (62) to 2.5 (17) at the long break.
The home fans would not have been optimistic at quarter time, with the Crows only managing one point in their lowest scoring opening term for 10 years.
Jimmy Bartel and Corey Enright were allowed to collect the ball at will for the reigning premiers, amassing 20 and 23 possessions respectively.
Tom Lonergan booted three goals in a performance that suggested his comeback from injury is gathering momentum.
Graham Johncock was the leading possession-getter for the home side with 15, but the fact that he picked them up at full-back says a lot about where the ball spent most of its time.
