Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes says his involvement in the AFL's Hall of Fame tribute match has boosted his confidence for the rest of the season.
Goodes made a slow start to the year but he says playing in the match helped him build on his recent run of good form.
The two-time Brownlow medallist says he is happy with his on-field performance.
"I really feel like I'm in a better place than last year and I feel that I can really focus on the game plan things and really work on those as well as continuing my work rate," he said.
The Swans take on Essendon at the Olympic stadium on Sunday.
The Bombers sit in 13th place with two wins from seven games but the Swans have just one more win and a draw.
The Swans have been working hard to improve their accuracy in front of goal.
"We've got to be very wary of them and we've got to train well," Goodes said.
[We've] really put a strong emphasis on this game, it's going to be a tough battle and hopefully a game that can get our season back on track."
