Courageous Power veteran Michael Wilson has recovered from a ruptured Achilles tendon and is a chance to play against Hawthorn in Launceston on Saturday.
Wilson has been on the sidelines since suffering the injury during the Power's preliminary final victory against the Kangaroos last year.
The Power have missed the 31-year-old's uncompromising approach to the game and team-mate Kane Cornes said he should be rushed back into the line-up.
"Personally I'd probably play him but the club hasn't made that call yet and it'll probably come down to selection on Thursday," Cornes said.
"He'll play for someone, whether it's us or Port Adelaide (Magpies). I'm not too sure, but if it was me picking the team, I'd play him."
Cornes said the 187-game player's experience would be valuable in the upcoming clash against the Hawks.
"(He) probably could play through the midfield and add just that stronger body and hardness around the footy," he said.
"Every time he plays, the players really get behind him and he gets around us and some of the greatest wins have been because of him."
"Certainly coming up against the top side you want all your good players in and he's certainly one of our good players."
Another 2004 premiership player will be travelling to Tasmania this week but this year he's donning a guernsey for the opposition.
Stuart Dew retired from AFL football at the end of 2006 but has made a comeback with the Hawks this season.
Cornes said playing against his former team-mate wasn't an issue and doubted whether his presence on the field would cause any fire between the clubs.
"I haven't thought too much about it, whilst he was a great servant of our footy club and has some great mates here, he'll just be part of the opposition on the weekend," he said.
The Power will enter the clash as underdogs but there is some hope for its supporters they can cause an upset. The team has won its last three games and has an 80 percent strike rate at Aurora Stadium.
"I think we've only lost their once and that was the last kick of the day so the boys love playing there. It's a big ground that suits our running game and every time we go down there we seem to play well," Cornes said.
"It's always been sunny and a nice day for us so hopefully the Tasmanians turn on the weather for us again."
"I think we play some of our best footy when we are away and we have had terrific wins."
