Fremantle coach Ross Lyon is confident tagger Ryan Crowley will be fit to start next season despite suffering a pectoral injury.

Crowley tore his pectoral muscle at training but the club have opted not to send the 2012 club champion for surgery.

The 28-year-old will be on a modified training program for the next six weeks and would probably be unlikely to feature in the Dockers' NAB Cup campaign.

"We expect Ryan to be able to maintain his fitness and be available for selection come Round 1 of the season proper," said Lyon in a media release.

The Dockers open their season with a derby clash against West Coast on Saturday March 23 at Patersons Stadium.
