The opportunity to enjoy further success in coming seasons meant Tyson Goldsack was quick to re-sign when Collingwood offered him a new two-year deal.

And Western Bulldogs ruckman Will Minson has also re-committed, the unrestricted free agent signing on at the Whitten Oval until the end of the 2014 season.

There had been speculation that Goldsack, a member of the Magpies' 2010 premiership, might be squeezed out by salary cap pressure, particularly following the recent new deals inked by Travis Cloke and Harry O'Brien.

But made an offer that would tie him to the club until the end of 2014, Goldsack signed on as he looks to build on a 2012 campaign in which he played a vastly different role under new coach Nathan Buckley.

"Obviously, it's nice to know where I'll be and be settled," Goldsack said.

"I think the team has a real opportunity to succeed over the next couple of years and to share in that is something I'm grateful for."

Having established himself in the team as a defender, Goldsack was swung forward in the early rounds of this year and, as well as booting 24 goals in 22 matches, enjoyed success as a defensive forward.

There had also been suggestions later in the season that Minson might choose to exercise his right to move on via free agency but the AFL's leader for hit-outs in 2012 backed rookie coach Brendan McCartney despite this year's disappointing campaign.

"I love it here and support the direction Brendan is taking this group wholeheartedly," Minson said.

"I've built my career at the Western Bulldogs and look forward to being part of the future success this club will undoubtedly have."
