He knows what it's like to cause a boilover on grand final day but Hawthorn 2008 premiership player Clinton Young is just as happy the Hawks are favourites ahead of this year's decider.
Young, 26, is one of 10 Hawks set to take on the Swans who were part of the Hawks team that stunned Geelong on the last Saturday in September four year ago.
The raking left footer quickly became a favourite among Hawks fans after staring in the final that year but managed just five matches in 2009 and 17 in 2010 before again being struck by the injury curse in 2011 where he played just 10 matches.
"I am very lucky that my body has come good for me in the second half of this season and can't wait to get out there against the Swans," Young told Sportal.
He said the Hawks would not let favouritism burden them and is convinced Sydney have a far better chance of winning than what the bookies suggest.
"To be honest I don't think it makes a difference who is favourite. Both teams are going to give it their all and whoever makes the least amount of errors will probably come out on top," he said.
"We don't see ourselves as favourites at all. We know from earlier this year that Sydney are a very hard team to beat."
Young was in devastating touch during the first half of the grand final against the Cats before an ankle injury ended his day.
Injuries have been a common problem ever since. The wingman was cut down last April by chronic hip and groin problems that sidelined him for almost a year.
"I'm hoping to actually stay on the field for four quarters tomorrow. I think we'll need every player out there pulling their weight for the team to get past the Swans."
Young was recruited from Wimmera Football League club Minyip-Murtoa and will have most of the district on his side on Saturday.
"A lot of my family will be in the stands and I also get plenty of support back in Minyip so it's a really proud day for my family and I," he said.

ReplyLast Saturday in September - Insanity strikes Victoria again. What a stupid lot you all are. So childish all year and totally brain-dead on this particular day. If you put as much energy into being productive as you do into this stupid game, the state would not be in the mess it is.
ReplyTurn it on again Youngy!!!!
