Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell won't play again this season unless the Magpies make the grand final after the club chose not to challenge his rough conduct charge, while West Coast are contesting Quinten Lynch's one-match ban.

Maxwell was slapped with a three-match ban for his hit on Hawthorn's Paul Puopolo during Friday night's qualifying final.

The Magpies opted to enter the early guilty plea and take a two-week suspension, meaning Maxwell will only play again if Collingwood make it to the final Saturday of September.

But the tribunal will sit on Tuesday evening with West Coast challenging Lynch's one-game suspension for charging.

The Eagles have nothing to lose in contesting the charge with the penalty to remain at a week if the tribunal upholds the Match Review Panel's decision.

St Kilda's Leigh Montagna will also be at the tribunal on Tuesday with the Saint contesting his rough conduct charge on Andrew Walker from the Round 23 clash against Carlton.

North Melbourne could be without Brent Harvey for the first six weeks of next season after they chose to contest both of his striking charges from Sunday's clash against West Coast.

With 93.75 points already hanging over his head, Harvey could have taken a four-week suspension with early pleas, but will now try his luck at the tribunal.

Pies defender Chris Tarrant is free to play against the Eagles this week after accepting a reprimand for striking, while Jarryd Roughead also took a reprimand for his rough conduct charge on Chris Dawes.

Geelong will be without James Kelly for the first match of the 2013 season after accepting his bumping charge on Tendai Mzungu.
