Trent Cotchin has won the Jack Dyer Medal as Richmond's best and fairest player for the second year running.

Cotchin, who is widely tipped to take over as the Tigers' captain next season, won the award with 296 votes.

Brett Deledio (263 votes) was second, followed by Ivan Maric (248), Shane Tuck (207) and Shaun Grigg (198).

Cotchin was just one vote in front of Maric midway through the season, with Deledio a further five votes behind.

But the 22-year-old surged ahead with some dominant performances towards the end the season.

Cotchin's most notable display, against the Western Bulldogs in Round 20, earned him a season-high 22 votes.

The star midfielder played every game this year, averaging 27.6 possessions per match, and is one of the Brownlow Medal favourites alongside Gold Coast's Gary Ablett and Essendon's Jobe Watson.

Tigers fans should be happy. I think their games were televised on 7 more than any other team. Seems like it anyway. How about showing more Hawks games? Theyre'a favorite for the premiership & I think Ive seen maybe 3 Hawks games all season.
