Fremantle midfielder Greg Broughton will miss the rest of the 2012 season because of a finger injury.

Dockers' general manager of football operations Chris Bond said the injury, to the ring finger on Broughton's right hand, would require surgery to repair.

The 25-year-old, who was a mature-age recruit and came off the Dockers' rookie list to make his debut in 2009, has played all 15 matches this season, but the finger problem has forced him to miss their last two against GWS and Port Adelaide.

Broughton joins young midfielder Anthony Morabito (knee) in sitting out the remainder of the year, while ruckman Aaron Sandilands is also unavailable for Sunday's Western Derby against the Eagles as he battles back from a toe problem.
