Greater Western Sydney have confirmed that 2011 number one draft pick Jonathon Patton will make his AFL debut against Richmond on Saturday.

The 19-year-old key forward has missed the Giants' first 10 matches after travelling to Sweden for knee surgery in January but has already been given the nod by GWS coach Kevin Sheedy for Saturday's game.

Patton was drafted from the Eastern Ranges and caught the eye while playing for Vic Metro at the 2011 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

After being named in the best for GWS' reserve team over the past two weeks, Sheedy has decided Patton is ready to play in the AFL.

The 197cm teenager is one of two players the Giants will welcome back against the Tigers, with Israel Folau set to return from a hamstring injury.
