AFL footballer Brendan Fevola has been arrested in Brisbane during New Year's Eve celebrations.

Police confirmed that a 29-year-old man Norman Park man was arrested at 4.30am in Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley.

He has been charged with public nuisance and obstructing police.

It is alleged that when police approached he became aggressive and refused to co-operate with their orders.

At 7.30am he was still in custody but is expected to be bailed today to appear in court on January 18...

==========================================

Lions will not tolerate Fev any longer I feel and may do whatever it takes to sack him..

I was so naughty last night too, but fortunately my kind neighbours refrained from ringing the police, but chose to ring me and ask me to turn the music down and stop the wild singing at three am.

As my house backs onto a golf course, my friend and I received offers over the back fence from local friendly young fellas to help us in our celebrations, which were kindly received and then rejected.

We were having way too much fun! Wearing glow sticks all over, we must have looked pretty funny from their view  below.

Still amazed at how I missed the garden later on in the evening with the vile projection coming from deep in my stomach.  The path got in the way.

Alive, can't talk or think. Can I go back to bed now??

Brisbane said Fevola will take the leave to "recieve professional assistance for a number of personal issues''.

It is believed the club has told Fevola to start to sort out his personal life so he will be psychologically able to concentrate on being an AFL footballer.

Excuse me but you already knew he was a loose cannon before you signed him up you dopey lions..

Hmmm, Fev wasn't at Judds wedding?
Both in the news at the same time for different reasons.

Fev, you're a goose...

"was so naughty last night too, but fortunately my kind neighbours refrained from ringing the police, but chose to ring me and ask me to turn the music down and stop the wild singing at three am".

Howdy Tig I had to read that part of your post twice as I thought it said," ...but chose to ring me and ask me to turn the music down and stop the wild swinging three sum".

Now Neville all as you'd know are welcome here, but this isn't the sh!tty cricket boards. I'd suggest for your own enjoyment ya change your attitude. What cuts it with your fellow kok  munchers over there won't work here.

I can't get much nicer than that- Happy new year!!

Now I can't really stand Fevola, and I always have that picture in my mind of him sitting on his backside pleading for a free when the ball is still within his reach.
However, I do wonder on these occasions if he was spotted, picked on, and arrested just because he is Brendan Fevola.
Do the Coppers like to have him as a scalp?
In all the dumb and stupid things that he has done, he has never actually, bashed raped or robbed anyone.
Was he really any worse than the thousands of others in the same area who probably just woke up with a hangover the next day?
I hope he does stay on and play for the lions. I can't stand him but I still want to see him play. He doesn't deserve to end a football career for somethings that most of us have been stupid enough to do ourselves.

Brendan creates his own issues and the cops were probably quick off the mark to deal with him knowing his history.

The human headline strikes again.

Well Mr Ferret you were right it certainly was a police state in the 70s and 80s but no longer so and I think about 85% looked up by the thumpers but that was in the past.

I agree with Mr GT that it could not happen to nicer club or more specifically to nicer bloke than coach voss he gets everything he deserves, all the best for the new year and next season for everybody who post,s here.

Matt good to hear that you are a true Vic and proud of it like most that I have encountered......BUT there are those exceptions you knows the ones that leave the state and move to QLD  and can not accept our ways and are a complete embarrassment on the rest of the great Vics. BTW Matt I was in Vic during those 1993 floods and filled 100,000's of sandbags for properties of very gracious people and still have the photo's.

ferratuss, I am certain that you have QLD mixed up with NZSW as I have lived in both states for many years I can assure you that the police in NZSW who are over zealous and corrupt, but hey 1st hand experience don't mess with them police officers from Seymour Vic either.

Oh Matt, there was no real malice in the term "Victardria"
more along the lines of "term of endearment" you know a little bit of niggle on the ground or rough play

Sounds like Fev has decided to get some professional help, along the lines of Cuz.

Good luck to him in the battle with his demons.

The question is whether or not the Lions are going to give him the time he needs.  And also, whether any treatment will be effective.

Not sure on both counts...Voss rarely has shown much compassion in his dealings with others.

Maybe the AFL should take the same line of punishment with their players as what the NRL did with Carney. Banned for 12 months and the only way he could get back was to play in rural provincial competitions for those 12 months. Look at what Carney did in his 1st 12 months back.

Ms Tiger
You are spot on with your acessment of Voss,y he has never shown any compassion for any his players ie Bradshaw Risky and Henderson and they are all better off now than they were under voss.

I am very pleased Henderson is starting to look like a good pick up even if it is for Carlton so good luck to him and the other two boys.

Voss I think reaps what he sows there are a lot of good boys at the Lions it is just that Voss is not one them I know I am not being very fair and just on Voss  and I dont think I will ever change my opinion of him.

if fev ever reads a book I would suggest "The great  Macarthy"because he is the main character of the book minus a few IQ points.to nev and terry good to hear things have improved in queensland-you got me pretty well pegged as an 80,s man.nev even used the old line I used to get-how they hated  vics but I was the only good one they ever met.my memories of the big Q was mad ,sad and full of kiwis
cheers ferrat

I was NOT drunk'n'disorderly New Years Eve ... fact is I never get disorderly after a drink (unless provoked).

Drove home from the races NYE, did the horse chores and then drank a bottle of Rare Breed.

Maybe the Tigers fans would like Fev at Punt Rd ... I know one who sure empathises with him.
