Blease is a talented midfielder who represented Vic Metro at the 2008 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. Melbourne used its priority pick to select him at pick No.17 in the 2008 NAB AFL National Draft after he showed glimpses of his ability at the championships. Blease is an excellent kick on either side of his body and shows great poise and balance with the footy. He was an AIS/AFL Academy graduate in 2008.
