Morton had an outstanding debut season playing 19 games and averaging an impressive 18 disposals, six marks and two inside 50s per game. Selected at pick No.4 at the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, the lightly built utility showed he was more than capable of performing at AFL level. Morton's best game for the season came in Round 20 where he accumulated 30 disposals and 17 marks highlighting the ability he showed at junior level. Morton is the brother of Jarryd (Hawthorn) and Mitch (Richmond).
