Buckley made steady progress in 2008 where he played 14 games and averaged 21 disposals and seven marks per game. He is an explosive midfielder who likes to run and carry and take on his opponents. His pace and long kicking make him an important player and he will be looking to take the next step in becoming a regular in the Melbourne midfield in 2009.
