After playing every game in his debut season, Bartram suffered a season ending knee injury in 2007 which restricted him to just one game. He bounced back last season to play 21 games averaging a career-high 14 disposals and three tackles per game. He has played primarily as a tagger early on in his career but last season relinquished that role to Lynden Dunn. Bartram is one of many young Melbourne players that will be looking to have a greater impact in 2009.
