Green was considering his options during the pre-season but has now committed himself to Melbourne by signing a new three-year deal. This was on the back of his most consistent season to date where he finished in the top three of Melbourne's B&F for the first time in his career. He averaged a career high 23 disposals, seven marks and three tackles per game and ranked second at the club in kicks, marks and inside 50s. Green will bring up his 200th game in 2009 and remains an extremely valuable player for the Demons.
